"Well here we are, finally!! It has taken us more than three and a half years to find our piece of heaven. We had the pleasure of appearing on Channel 4 "A Place In The Sun" who introduced us to this enchanted area of the Alto Guadalquivir in the province of Cordoba. |
Bill and I fell in love with this beautiful place in the sun. Various Estate Agents took us to a number of breathtaking areas, but we couldn`t find the one and only place that "ticked all our boxes". We searched the Web for three and a half years, getting more frustrated to no avail, and then decided to pack in our stressful lives i England and drive through to Cordoba, our starting point. Low and behold we found Montoro, our destiny!!! There was this picturesque white village perched on a number of rolling hills, we knew immediately that this was our piece of heaven. Now we needed someone to help us find our new home in the sun. All our prayers were answered through Rural Estates, an English speaking Estate Agents located in Montoro village. Both Antonio (the little Italian Dynamo) and his Spanish associate Luisa work as a great team of relocators. Bill and I gave Antonio our "brief", with his knowledge of Montoro, expertise as an Estate Agent along with his abundance of enthusiasm and energy he found our Shangrila here in Montoro. Also, he arranged for meetings with local professional builders, and under the guidance of Bills drawings they are now nearing completion of our new home. Luisa is an excellent listener and carefully explains everything to us in English, she guided us through all the fomalities and legalities that "expats" have to adhere to in Spain in purchasing a property. She made it as painless as possible. Unfortunately, you hear so many horror stories of British people being ripped off that you automatically put up barriers. Without Rural Estates expertise and knowledge we may as "expats" have fallen at the first hurdle. Montoro has all the charm of a fairy tale, added to that the wonderful historic features on offer. The residents are warm and friendly. BUT THIS WONDERFUL SECRET MUST BE KEPT SECRET BETWEEN US AND YOU THE READER.! I would like to thank you so much for referring us to Antonio in Montero, what a nice guy, he has been so accommodating he has bent over backwards to help us to find a suitable property to run my trail riding business from, and within 24hoursof meeting him he had a new property on the market he thought of me and we got 1st refusal on it. |
I went along to view yesterday with a friend as Tony's work load didn't permit him to take the time off, and WOW! the house was lovely the views breath taking and the price unbelievable and Antonio did all the negotiations on mybehalf with the owner, he even got him to reduce the price for us, left a small holding deposit and will be back in Cordoba by the end of the week with another 2000euros, then the property will be registered.
I could not believe how enthusiastic Antonio was about my business venture, and the wonderful ideas he had also. as we left Antonio we felt as though he was a friend that we had known for ever and one that we could trust implicitly. Once again thank you so much, because if had not been for the way you both looked after us in the beginning we would never have done business with your company.  | Hi there Luisa and Antonio, Many thanks for your time and energy yesterday and the photos. All the properties you showed us were great. Some one could live in and some had the "wow" factor.
We discussed the four properties on the way home and both would like the plot of land and the reform. It was so quiet and peaceful. We both drive so it is not a problem being that far out of town.

| We have today recommended your services to friends who are involved in trying to find a buyer for a property in Alhaurin El Grande . They are totally disenchanted with the estate agents they have to date dealt with .
Main complaints being apathy and failure to keep them advised of what is happening . The property is set in 30,000 square meters and has recently built stables and a very large swimming pool . I understand that the asking price is around 1.2 million . | Although a sale did not result for our property it wasn't any fault of yours and we can't thank you enough for the effort you put in .
Our friends will be getting in touch but should you not have heard within a week please let us know .

In all seriousness, it is good to know that Craig, Claire and the girls have made some genuine contacts over there. | Ithink theyhave shown a lot of courage to move abroad and they will know doubt appreciate the support from people such as Luisa and yourself.
Remind me which albums you want me to get for you – I’ll get them to Craig before Christmas.I recall you said Blood on the Tracks and Desire but I can’t remember the other one you mentioned.

Thank you all for your help in our search for a property in Spain, Myself and Marlene have discussed at length the property we were interested in and although we both like the property and feel it is great value for the price, it is with regret we do not feel able to proceed, the main reason is the isolation and Marlene feels she would not be happy to be left in the house on her own from a security point of view.
| It has been nice meeting you all and I must comment on the professional and friendly way you have related to us, although both you Antonio and Christian are totally different, you work great together as a team and I am sure you will do well in the future and we both wish the three of you all the best.
